I'm Pro-Choice – On Everything

I support the right of a woman to chose if, when, and how she is going to terminate her pregnancy. I see abortion as the prevention of life, not as the taking of life. Each of us must have the unalienable right to absolute control over our most fundamental article of property: our own bodies. You control that property, or you are property. In my opinion the government has no business even concerning itself with this issue.

However, this means I also do not support government funding of abortions. I feel this way because:

• If it is wrong for those whose believe that abortion is murder to force that belief on us, it is likewise wrong for those of us on the pro-choice side to force them to pay through involuntary taxes for a practice they abhor.

• Getting government to pay for something invites government to control whatever is being paid for. Even as subsidies for the arts have led inevitably to censorship of the arts, so funding of abortion will lead to waiting periods, mandatory "counselling", and a host of other invasions and restrictions.

I believe the safest thing is just to keep government as many miles away from abortion as humanly possible.
